Learning Object Demonstration: “Just ASK: The Interactive Online Magazine Show”
(April 12, 2005)

For Immediate Release: April 12, 2005
For Information: Amy Dubois, (916) 536-1279, info@askintl.com

This month ASK International is proud to announce the newest feature on the organization's website – “Demonstrations of Excellence” – featuring a sophisticated demonstration on the use of learning objects. “Just ASK: The Interactive Online Magazine Show,” is a theme-driven course that utilizes SCOs or SCORM-compliant “sharable content objects” for easy maintenance. Each SCO can be updated and reused to easily work with any e-Learning curriculum and LMS. This learning object demonstration was created as two separate SCOs, the first introducing to the theme and use of the interactive tools and the second presenting a knowledge check where learners' results are scored and review links are provided.

“Just ASK” was created using content from Dr. Parks’ article Designing e-Learning that Scores with the Gamer Generation (http://www.askintl.com/knowledge/articles/eBest/0105Gamer.html). In addition to exhibiting the use of SCOs, the demo features photo-realistic set design and graphics, animated hosts and interactive and fun-filled learning activities. For example, one learning activity is presented as a volcano in a mystic land. If the learner responds incorrectly to the learning activity, the volcano erupts. If answered correctly, the sky brightens and birds sing. An interactive remote control, used on other screens to access information and vote in online polls, also accents the overall theme.

These templates and others created by ASK are available for purchase and/or customization and can be viewed at the new “Demonstrations of Excellence” page on the ASK website at www.askint.com.
