After I concluded a presentation at a national web conference recently, one attendee waited patiently while many others came up to ask me questions.... What authoring tools do I recommend? How much time does it take to produce your first web course? What does it cost to convert existing courseware to the web? After I addressed these issues, everyone but the lone woman and a crew working busily to set up for the next presenter were left. The woman approached me with much concern on her face. She told me that she worked for an operations department of a Big Four accounting firm and was recently transferred to the training department to head up the company's first web-based learning development effort.
