We all know how it feels coming back to work from a vacation. The shock of downloading hundreds of emails, even with our spam filters set to their highest settings. We get that sinking feeling as we scroll through the mail…will it ever end? Managing organizational content such as email has emerged as one of the biggest challenges facing business. In its June 2005 white paper, Enterprise Content Management, Microsoft calculates that 93% of all content is now in electronic form. This includes emails, slides, PDF files, voice, digital fax and videos. Content is by nature messy, hard to sort and more and more difficult to find on our desktops. Winner Best User of PowerPoint 2006: An ASK/ASPCA Case Study

We didn’t set out to create the best PowerPoint web-based training program in 2006 but we did. The following case study describes the project’s mission, goals, challenges and lessons learned. Business Need: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in 1889. The ASPCA’s mission is to provide an effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. The organization offers national programs in humane education, public awareness, government advocacy, shelter support, and animal medical services and placement. The ASPCA recognizes that the mistreatment of animals is often linked to the commission of other violent crimes, and that penalties for animal cruelty should reflect this link. The ASPCA believes that the successful prosecution of animal cruelty offenders should include fines, jail sentences and counseling to prevent additional acts of cruelty. In order to facilitate these prosecutions, the ASPCA – in conjunction with the Regional Institute of Community Policing (RICP) identified the need for state-specific web-based training programs for law enforcement...
